I am a visiting student from London, Canada, where I am currently pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience at Western University under the supervision of Dr. Adrian Owen. My research focuses on assessing residual cognitive function in patients with acute brain injury in ICU. I use advanced neuroimaging methods, such as fMRI and functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to measure and map brain activity in response to various stimuli in patients who are acutely unresponsive.
I look forward to spending my summer at the NICC lab working on a project to identify neuroimaging biomarkers of language processing in patients with acute severe brain injury.
