Veronica Nisticó
Graduate Student
I am an Italian psychologist with a M.Sc. in Clinical and Neuropsychology from the University of Milan-Bicocca, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience under the supervision of Prof. Angelo Maravita and Dr. Benedetta Demartini.
My research focuses on body representation, sense of agency, self-awareness, and consciousness across various neuropsychiatric conditions, primarily Functional Neurological Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders. After my M.Sc., I had the privilege to study these conditions at the University College of London under the supervision of Prof. Katerina Fotopoulou, and at the "Aldo Ravelli" Research Center for Neurotechnology and Experimental Brain Therapeutics at the University of Milan.
Joining the NICC lab as a Visiting PhD student, I aim to gain expertise in TMS/EEG data acquisition and analysis under the supervision of Dr. Matteo Fecchio. Simultaneously, I am completing psychotherapy training to enhance my clinical practice as a psychotherapist.
Beyond research, I am committed to making a positive impact through extensive volunteering and international cooperation, where I blend psychology with human rights advocacy. I have a deep passion for traveling and exploring new cultures, which shapes my personal growth and informs both my research and my clinical practice.
